Brain for Cancer
Founded by the CEO Stefan Vilsmeier in Munich in 1989, Brainlab is a company that strives to improve cancer survivorship by developing new and minimally invasive methods to treat cancers of the brain and body along with increasing the comfort of the patients during their treatment.
The first step taken by Brainlab in their lifelong quest to bring in a breakthrough innovation in healthcare, was developing software applications that range from patient positioning in radiosurgery treatments to software-guided surgical navigation to cloud-based solutions that facilitate the secure exchange of medical images.
Though Brainlab is first and foremost a software company, the need for the development of hardware systems became crucial for Brainlab over the years. The major reason being that advanced hardware expands the possibilities of treatment and facilities and effectively delivers Brainlab software innovation across numerous fields of oncology, specifically radiotherapy and radiosurgery; image-guided surgery, specifically, craniomaxillofacial (CMF), ENT, spine, trauma, and neurosurgery; intraoperative imaging; integrated operating room solutions as well as image sharing and enhancement.
Driven by the passion to increase access to and the consistency of treatment, the company has launched Brainlab.org. Through this initiative the company is seeking to make medical technology more understandable and accessible for patients and caregivers everywhere.
Standing to be the game changer in cancer treatment and survivorships.
